Extracurricular activities
In the context of globalisation, expansion of international contacts, humanitarianisation of education, popularisation of multicultural education, on the one hand, and the emergence of inter-ethnic hatred, discord and conflicts, on the other hand, the education of students in the modern Russian and international educational space is of special importance. This is the focus of attention of the administration of the Bashkir State Medical University, the faculty, the staff of the administrative units for the achievement of national tolerance, interest and respect for other nations, religions, cultures, not only for students who are citizens of the Russian Federation, but also for students from other countries who are educated at BSMU.
Every culture is unique, different and therefore beautiful and interesting - all activities are aimed at understanding this idea. The education of students in a medical school requires the achievement of communicative, educational and disciplinary goals.
BSMU uses both traditional methods of acquainting foreign students with life in Russia, the republic and the university, as well as new means and ways of active participation of young people in the educational, scientific, sports and cultural environment of the region and the university.

International students are actively involved in the volunteering movement. Our student volunteers were selected during the SCO and BRICS Summit in Ufa (2015), the Health Week with the participation of the Rectors of Russian Universities, the Congress of the Russian Society of Urology.
The cultural and linguistic club "Between the cultures" has been working since January 2017.
In order to fully develop and promote the talents of students, great attention is paid to sports and cultural events within the university and participation in events outside the university. In particular, our students regularly take part in boxing and kickboxing tournaments and win prizes. The football and badminton sections are active, organising matches not only between teams from different countries, but also bringing together representatives of different nations in teams. For students from the Republic of India there is a very interesting cricket section. Foreign citizens bring to the University's collection sports achievements at the republican, all-Russian and world levels.
An important role is played by the involvement of senior students, as well as examples of successful graduates of the University, who continue their education in internships, residencies, postgraduate studies in the process of adaptation, which is one of the strongest stimuli for personal development of students. The University has a strong Students' Union.
It has become a tradition to hold meetings with students, both with representatives of individual countries and in general, under the leadership of the University administration, where students, in addition to familiarising themselves with the rules of the University and the campus and the fundamentals of the legislation of the Russian Federation, have a great opportunity to ask all their questions.
The University organises, conducts and actively participates in cultural and educational events of an international, all-Russian and national level, including those of other universities.
The popularity and interest of not only students and employees of the university, but also the population of Ufa, have become a good tradition of celebrating the national holidays of the countries (Diwali, Republic Day of Tajikistan, etc.).
In addition, since January 2017, a student press group (BSMU-Press Team) has been active in the Dean's Office, covering the activities of the Dean's Office and international students on popular social networks.
