BE VIGILANT!
THEFTS
Attackers know that these days people go shopping, as a rule, with a large amount of money, so they track down inattentive customers there. In retail outlets, it is better not to leave unattended bags, wallets, cell phones. Be vigilant on public transport and on the street, so as not to become a victim of pickpockets.
TRANSPORT SAFETY
1. Car owners should also be careful: do not leave bags, bags and other valuables in the cabin unattended.
2. At this time, the number of vehicles on the streets increases sharply, traffic jams and congestion are created, the number of road accidents increases. In this regard, when driving a vehicle, you should be extremely careful on the streets and roads, exercise maximum caution, choose a safe speed based on specific road conditions, and park vehicles only in permitted places.
IT is FORBIDDEN to drive a vehicle without a driver's license or intoxicated of alcohol or other substances!!!
SAFETY OF RESIDENTIAL PREMISES OR DORMITORIES
Students should take certain precautions for the safety of their property during the holidays. You can ask your dorm mates to check your room, if you leave a dormitory for holidays. Ask them to call the police, if they hear a suspicious noise coming from the room in your absence. Due to such vigilance it will be possible to prevent theft. Do not forget to lock the door of the rooms with a key, even going out for the shortest time. The result of such forgetfulness is, as a rule, the disappearance of personal belongings and money.
SCAMMERS
It is possible that during the New Year holidays, fraudsters may try to get into the houses and apartments under the guise of social services workers, emergency response services. If social workers, representatives of other services came to you without a call, do not open the door in any case! Do not believe if visitors report that damage has been inflicted on you or your loved ones and to remove it, it is necessary to make any manipulations with money.
Do not believe the scammers who report (by phone call), that your relatives have been in a traffic accident!
Recently, there have been many cases of fraud using bank cards. Remember, bank employees never call their customers with a message that their card is blocked. You can check its operability at any ATM or branch of your bank.
SAFETY ON THE STREETS AND IN PUBLIC PLACES
- Most often, a drunk person becomes a victim of street crimes. He can't fight back against a robber - criminals: understand this well!
- Also stay away from company of people who seemed drunk or intoxicated. Usually they are aggressive and may cause harm.
- Among street crimes, as a rule, thefts and robberies are leading. Most often, bags are taken away from people on the streets, cell phones are snatched away.
- When going somewhere, be sure to tell your relatives or friends where and with whom you are going and when you plan to return.
In order to prevent cases of frostbite and cold injury, it is strongly recommended that during the holidays to refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages, as well as not to appear intoxicated in public places.

There is a lake next to the building on K. Marx Street 50, which is covered with an ice crust in winter. Of course, there is a temptation to ride on the ice and enjoy winter sports.
1. Do not go out on thin, weak ice.
2. Thin ice, dusted with snow, is especially dangerous. Places with dark transparent ice are more reliable than those adjacent to it - opaque, frozen with snow.
3. Do not use skates on the "first ice". They are very easy to drive on thin, weak ice or into a ice hole.
4. Helping a friend who has fallen through the ice, give him a belt, a scarf, a stick, etc. You can grab them tighter than using hands. Besides, when approaching it is easier to break off the edge of the ice.
5. If you accidentally hit thin ice, step back with sliding careful steps, without taking your feet off the ice.
When breaking ice, it is necessary:
a. Get rid of heavy, restraining objects (which you probably was carrying);
b. Do not waste time getting rid of clothes, as in the first minutes, until completely wet, it keeps a person on the surface
c. Crawl out onto the ice by "screwing in", i.e. rolling from the back to belly;
d. Stick sharp objects into the ice and pulling your body towards them;
e. Move away from the ice hole by crawling in your own footsteps.
If you fall under the ice, do not get lost, do not try to crawl forward and break it with your elbows and chest. Try to lie "on your back" and crawl out and then, without getting up, crawl away from a dangerous place.
It should be remembered that the most productive are the first minutes of being in cold water, while clothes are not wet yet, hands are not frozen, weakness and indifference characteristic of hypothermia have not developed. Only one, at least two of his comrades should help a person who has fallen through the ice. Accumulating people on the edge of a ice hole is not only useless, but also dangerous.
